Hearing Augmentation

While cochlear implants do allow some deaf people to hear, they also incorporate potentially problematic external components located on the side of the head. That could soon change, however, thanks to an experimental new implantable microphone.

New research is building on the suggestion that our ability to effectively hear something is influenced by the position of our eyes. The study found auditory attention seems to be intertwined with visual spatial attention.
